Beaudoux

It was around 700 years before the great battle that united the kingdom as it is known to this day, where Arthur Le Dragonier, also known as Bright Rider of Dragons, discovered the Purple Mines of Beaudoux. In songs and legends, he was often referred to as dragon-man, as only a few people knew what he really was: a rare subspecies of dragons. He had a lot of similarities to humans, but his exceptional lifespan, hard-plated, bright, white skin, and the ability to tame and fly dragons however clearly distanced him from other human beings. He fought a lot of battles during the 1000 year war and therefore was more of a nomad, constantly looking for a new place he could call home. It was this way, that he finally landed in the place nowadays known as Beaudoux. He sensed a weird feeling, filled with ancient magic, coming from an old, abandoned, small cave entrance, probably from the time of ancient civilizations. He followed his superior instincts and decided to further descend his way into the darkness of the cave, which soon exposed itself as a bright, colourful place. Shining stone in a vast variety of colours, however mostly purple, decorated the walls which is why he named it Purple Caves. After some time, he came to realize that this place was filled with ancient magic that gave him superior senses and exceptional force. This way, Beaudoux was founded: A small, personal outpost, outside of the war, that slowly grew over time. However, times changed once Arthur Le Dragonier had to participate in the great battle of the dead plains, which ended fatally for him. This is why Beaudoux was lost and forgotten for several years and was only sang and told in songs and stories until an unknown adventurer discovered the outpost once built by Arthur. He decided to settle down at this very location, which soon became a small town, that began to dig out the shiny, colourful stone hidden underneath, which, unfortunately, once dug out lost the shiny glimmer it once had. Slowly but surely, the ancient magic somehow seemed to fade…or did it? To this day, adventurers are still trying to figure out the cave system, in the hope to find something in the most inner core, something to explain the magic that seems to rule in this mystical place. The stone was primarily used to build houses, which soon became an attraction for a variety of artists, mostly painters. To this day, the city of Beaudoux is the capital of arts that attracts thousands of artistic souls all around the kingdom. And as widely known, artistic people tend to have a drink or two, which is one of the reasons one can find one of the best wines in the different inns and taverns spread around the area.
Beaudoux is a Harbor/port city that earns money through creating & selling art.
