Kyfasi

Ultimately, we are tasked with protecting the natural world of the coast and beyond. In the past, my people haven't had it easy. It took a long while and a lot of blood for the Confederation of the Golden Coast to recognize us and just let us be.

The Kyfasi are a people living in the southern Golden Coast, between Lirca and Protreni. They live a quiet and peaceful life, not often engaging with the other people of the coast. In contrast to the enormous cities of the Confederation, the Kyfasi prefer to live within small villages and settlements, scattered in and near the forests.
Every year, the Kyfasi sent out a group of wanderers tasked to travel the Golden Coast and the lands beyond. They are tasked with looking after the natural order of the world, exploring and protecting nature, and helping it wherever needed.

History

The history of the Kyfasi goes back far into the Age of Arcanum. It's believed that they originally formed out of a splinter group of elves from the Boradrin and people from the Golden Coast opposed to the uncontrolled magical and technological progress.
During this time, they found themselves in constant conflict with the young Confederation of the Golden Coast and the Elves from Boradrin, everyone laying a claim on the land. Being vastly outnumbered, the Kyfasi employed gorilla tactics, using nature and the terrain to their advantage.
When the War of Fate broke out, they retreated into the woods, hiding from the conflict. The war only reinforced their beliefs. In their eyes, the uncontrolled exploration of the arcane ultimately led to the wrath of the gods and the entire war.
After the war, the Elves of Boradrin were destroyed, and the Confederation only barely survived. Out of pure necessity and lack of resources, the conflict between the Kyfasi and Confederation ended. Now centuries later, both live in the area, and just accepting the others existence.

The Wanderers

We have survived the war not because of our military strength, or arcane might, but because Zethris protected us - and in return she gave us a divine responsibility. We have survived to protect the natural order of this world, its beauty and wonders. It's our duty to make sure it is preserved for generations to come.

Every year, the Kyfasi send out a group of volunteers called the Wanderers. They are tasked to travel the coast and lands beyond, looking for hints of destruction and corruption of nature, and protecting the world by any means necessary. It's rare that these wanders make themselves known to the people around them. They prefer to watch and observe from the shadows, and intervene without anybody knowing that they were there.
