Crowswood

There was a time, before the end of Silence, when the Crowswood was known as the realm of a god. The Blind God, Bhákhre, whose crows sat atop the looming pines and watched through a constant, milky white mist for travelers. It was said both time and wind surrendered before his realm, and kept outside the forest.    But that was before. Where gods fell, their realms slowly began to recover. As man rose from these ruins, they began to rebuild in their own image this time. It was then when a small tribe took what possessions they had, and headed north to Crowswood. That is how, two hundred years after being abandoned, humans returned to the forest.   They saw the tower about the same time as they began to feel its influence. A shiver along their backs, a cold touch on their arms. And the taste of death on their tongues. A relic of the past, it stood above the sharp, darkened treetops.
