Dhuidunýl Musai

Early in the First Age a merchant ship arrived to the docks of Dhuiduniu carrying two followers of Juiwia. Trade between Nīwulai Valley and the city-states of Shining Cove had only just been established and the faithful found themselves welcomed with curious gazes even across streets and market stalls.

At the time of their arrival Whiteport was grieving the death of their Merchant Prince's eldest son, and the illness of his second. The missionaries claimed they could heal the son, and in return asked only for some land on which to build a temple. So a deal was struck, the second son healed, and a year later a small, humble abode called Dhuiduniu Musai became the home to the first of Nalidin's faithful.

For a long time there was an equilibrium between the Juiwian temple and the surviving Cult of Bhasulud, who followed the dead and faded Elder God. This balance, however, was broken in the Second Age for the favor of Juiwia, due to their ability to prevent and even heal the dreaded sickness Agalin. After the epidemic Dhuiduniu Musai saw a considerable increase of both land and people under its care.

Architecture

While the oldest parts of the temple followed the organized, square structure of Nīwulai Valley's architecture, every addition thereafter had adopted some measure of the curved, graceful style found in southern Nalidin. Round pillars support high ceilings, and everywhere where sunlight could be let in there were tall, open windows. The temple itself housed reliefs of both Sun and Moon, as well as myths and stories of the celestial deities carved into the walls themselves for all to read.

Behind the central temple, surrounded by low walls of glimmering white stone, were the living quarters of the faithful. These buildings were dull and colorless compared to the core temple, only taking enough space for eating and sleeping. A wooden door in the walls led to the temple's own farmlands, where grain and grapes was grown and processed by the young apprentices into bread, ale and wine. Small gardens within the walls offered some quantities of vegetables and herbs as well.

Sanctuary from Agalin

The Year of Tremors treated Nalidin poorly. A mine entrance collapsed near the Shining Cove by the eastern highlands. Weeks later, Dhuiduniu's people fled in terror as others fell dead on the streets, their bodies weakened by Agalin, the Withering Sickness. The rulers of all nearby city-states turned to the faithful of Juiwia for guidance and healing, as they had many times before with other, more minor ailments. In this the glittering city of Whiteport was no exception.

While the rest of Nalidin fell to the illness, those sheltered by Juiwian temples often managed to avoid it altogether. Tents and other temporary habitation appeared around the temple lands, filled with the desperate. Priests left the safety of their walls to treat the ill lying in their beds and on dark street corners. Rich or poor, where the priests arrived people began to slowly, but surely show improvements.

Grateful and amazed by their ability to heal and help those who would otherwise have no hope, the people of Dhuiduniu flocked to the temple to support and even join the faithful after the epidemic began to decrease and situation stabilize in the region.
