Summer Camp 2024

Following articles were written during and as part of Summer Camp 2024 challenge. The article's just a quick and dirty way of listing all of the articles, I'll probably make it prettier later once Summer Camp fatigue has left me.

Week One: Change

Change is an important part of Lovenoma, and one I felt I ended up pushing too little. After being stuck on the First Age of Lovenoma for over a year, I finally pushed through to the Second Age using the first week as an excuse. It also helped to redo some of the world's timeline I had planned and already written.

the Great Plains
the Long Winter

Agalin
Noliur
Northern Wars
Dhuidunýl Ghiriniu

Week Two: Refuge

I like to plan prompts in groups, with one article feeding into another. Thus, the themes of change and refuge worked well together, allowing me to explore regions both in the ways they changed, but also how the people worked to adapt and survive the many disasters they had to face, particularly at the beginning of the Second Age.

Shining Cove
Dhuidunýl Musai
Dhuiduniu City Guard
Agalin Amulet
Suraciri
Dancing Mouse
Wanderers
Order of Lakól Anu

Week Three: Belief

Beliefs, religions and faiths have a large part in Lovenoma, both because the entire world is an exploration of "what if Uralic mythology had some truth to it?", and because all of the above are important in building somewhat realistic and believable cultures, no matter when and where they exist. In Lovenoma so far I have a few different religions and many local myths and belief systems, but all of them feel very floaty and uncertain due to lack of detail.

Méyanū
Tears of the Moon
the Star Below
Celestial Shrines
Tielëjoar/Tále'eme
Sun's Height
Dhuiduniu
Ghidagoi Vine

Week Four: Decay

A fitting word to describe my condition toward the end of the month, but also an intriguing subject for Lovenoma, where decay is something constant due to the nature of the world, not that I've made it obvious so far.
