Curros

The Wilderness holds completely different Ami and Emi to ours. Also it holds ruins of Senemi and of what could be either an offspring from them or a completely different sentient race.
The curiosity and dream of success drives masks to sneak into The Wilderness or even try to pass the vicious currents enclosing it's coasts to gather materials or artefacts. This way they not only endanger themselves, a Curros seldomly arrives back home, but also Lucem Edi. Since we don't extend to the west anymore and fortified the attacks have cooled down quite a bit, but when the beasts are startled they switch into warmode. Thus every step into The Wilderness without permission and mission of The Council has been outlawed, the Curros in particular.

Scientists trying to research The Wilderness bemoan this decision, as it has made their work a lot slower. Now they only get deliveries from attacks of the beasts and missions seens as unavoidable. Stubborn masks pay vast sums to gain rare food, trophies, artefacts, samples and many other things and thus again and again Lucemi are lured into their and other's resulting death.

Curros are seen as greedy and reckless in society. We suspect that partially there are organizational structures behind this, driving the rumors of The Wildernesses treasures ahead and giving the material and money to make groups sneak over the border. On expiditions into the wilds not rarely some groups or corpses are found that probably were Curros.

One target of a Curros are the ruins of Senemi too. These ruins are protected by law to be entered by official expiditions and researchers, still some people really want to have Lapita orbs of the Senemi in particular. It is a shame, when I think about how much we have lost to time, we also loose wisdom to these greedy people. It is not that I ashame the Curros hunting for fortune, but these that drive them to do it.
