The Force of Life

Willpower is at the core of all life in the universe & defines the line between living and unliving creatures - the force that drives a Shape to move & allows us to perceive.
On a much more fundamental scale, Willpower is the energies & interactions that intermingle around a dense & energetic Soul curving the fabric of space-time around itself. Similar to how gravity works, Willpower attracts energy & matter to itself, and the stronger the will in a living creature, the harder it is for any other Soul to steal away their influence on the things around them.

Inescapable & Infallible

Fundamentally, willpower is strongest immediately around a Shape, so much so that it acts as a kind of event horizon, that once matter, energy or information has come into contact with a Shape the amount of energy required to strip it unwillingly from the influence of the Soul is Arcanic.
