Anna

Anna is the wife (likely, widow) of Gavrilo the Potter. She is bereft about his death, and determined to get to the truth of the matter. She has demanded that it be referred to the magistrate, and wants to see the culprit put to a horrifying death. Apparently, she never thought much of Khoma. She doesn't seem to be convinced that the magistrate, who, as she sees it, is too corrupt, can handle the crime adequately, and has already sought to recruit people to put justice in their own hands.
Anna is known as an emotional woman, given to outbursts. She has been known to serve as a professional wailer at funerals, and is now putting her powerful voice to use at the services for her departed husband.
Anna has six living children.
