Blighted area of the woods

This area, possibly around 10 or more versts wide, lies about half a day's travel south or southwest of the village of Babkino. It features dead, prematurely leafless trees, a covering of slimy fungus along the ground, and in places, a sickly green liquid seeping out of the mud. The Serpent Slayers, trying to conduct some peasant refugees to Ladeisk, decided to skirt around the area, but a few of the peasants, spooked by Alden's transformation into a hybrid wolf fled into the blighted area, as their own village had been destroyed by such wolves. They were never heard from again.
