Father Vadim

Father Vadim was the parish priest in the village of Sitnitsa. The Serpent Slayers met with him after having viewed Ryaba's golden egg, to ask him his feelings on the matter .Vadim told them that he thought the egg was a great blessing for the villagers, and that the hen would likely lay more. They then pressed him as to his feelings about Cherniava - likely the local witch - who they had also met in the barn. Vadim said that she was old, and didn't cause much trouble, so it was easiest just to ignore her. 
Vadim's fate is not known, though it is likely that he perished along with the rest of Sitnitsa's villagers, and possibly, like them, rose again as a navii.
