Piotr Nikolaevich

Piotr is the father of Maria "Masha" Petrovna, beloved of Borya Moiseyevich. He sent Borya, who was vying for his daughter's hand, to retrieve a red lily from a group of volkhvy - the flower is reputed to have great healing powers, and his daughter is apparently ill. After Borya returned with the flower, Piotr was less than pleased, because Borya did not ask the volkhvy how to use it. He went off to consult the local medicine woman. 
It is not clear whether Piotr was particularly happy about the rough woodsman wooing his daughter in the first place.
