Session 8 - The Sacrificial Offerings

General Summary

The party, along with their new bard entertainer, is attacked by the black animals. They managed to mostly fend them off, with a combined effort to take down the cow, while Ivan blocked the pigs from leaving the pen. However, much of the party was injured, including Ivan from a rooster that left a cut that the party believed to be infected. The pigs also kept getting back up, even when it seemed they were definitively dead, which gave the party pause.   Afterwards, there was a difficult discussion about what should be done next; should the party try to confront their attackers? should they run from town? Complicating the matter was the that the barn door seemed stuck. The bard, Feliks, managed to climb out a window, and discussion was also had about digging under the walls. Vashti called upon strange powers to learn which ones that had sent the animals to attack.   However, with a combined effort, the party managed to shove the door open. With a chance to confront their hosts about what happened, and learning it was the pagan god of death and livestock that had attacked the party, Vashti went to speak to the livestock owners as to the events that transpired.   Ivan, however, felt feverish but not from the infections. He started to feel lovesick for the woman at the tavern and returned there with Feliks to confront the woman who had "poisoned" him. The people at the bar wanted to participate in Ivan's situation, but he was confused, as puberty had not hit the young boy of 13, and the abbey was fine keeping such thoughts from children. Not exactly sure what these feelings were, he eventually brought the woman and target of his infatuations to a private barn she owned, to help care for her "symptoms" of lovesickness.
