Six armed riders in the woods
These six riders were encountered in the woods after the Serpent Slayers had traveled four days from the Cave of the Sleeping Bogatyrs toward Ladeisk (though they were significantly slowed by the refugees from Babkino they were conducting. The riders were well-armed and armored, but wore no insignia. They said that they were servitors of the Prince of Omena, and were returning home after traveling down to the capital of the khan in order to pay their master's tribute, and also conveyed some news about the city of Udyn (which some of the Slayers had visited early that summer): it was still quite damaged from the fire, and the khan blamed Trofim Andreevich for that. They then asked for local news, and party members told them about the large number of wolf shapechanger attacks all over the Ladeisk Principality. The riders promised they would convey this information to their prince, and would ask if he could send aid.
After returning to the capital, the party met with their Prince, and mentioned this encounter. After listening carefully, Trofim Andreevich told them that the riders were likely not from Omena, but from Kliakva, and were spying for their master, the Grand Prince. He added that the Grand Prince had quite a few volkodlaks in his service, and that he probably had a hand in the recent problems caused by Grey Wolf.
