Stepan

Stepan is the leader of the trappers in Zaozerye. They all stay in a hunting lodge (partly to get away from their wives). Stepan seems relatively hospitable, but he is independent, and will not dance to anyone's tune unless he understands (and agrees with) the reasons for doing so.
