Strange elk creature with golden fur

This creature was encountered by Agapia Vladimirovna Anfisova who had gone ahead of her party to find food while several days northeast of Ladeisk. She saw the creature drinking by a stream, and stole up to it, cooing and touching its large antlers. The creature did not resist, and a shower of harmless, multicolored stars emanated from the antlers. Agapia then let it go, it looked in her eyes, and then bounded away.
The girl does not know what the creature is or what it is called. It is the size of a very large elk, through with shorter legs and in places, bright-golden fur.
