Pood: - A pood is a unit used to determine the weight of bulk goods. It is equivalent to to about 36 pounds, or 16 kilos. For retail items, the funt (pound) is used.
Verst - The verst is a basic unit of length used for travel. It is roughly equivalent to 1 kilometer (or .6 mile).
Arshin - The arshin (cubit) is a smaller unit of length used to measure e.g. cloth. It is slightly less than a yard (2.33 feet or .71 meters).
Charka - Literally, a wine goblet, the charka is 4.16 fl. oz., or roughly equivalent to one cup.
