Amatus

Despite living on the Continent of Moriesha their roots are on Calidoria where they were one of the races intended to guard the nights. But given their abilities and instincts they themselves turned out to be the biggest danger in the dark. After they started to hunt down a climbing number of Humans, Nabouri and even Dracul the three Gods remaining on LumenOrbis intervened and rounded them up. After a short discussion they decided, instead of killing them, they would relocate the Amatus to the continent of Moriesha hoping that the local Fauna would take them out.
A false assumption. Given their special abilities and coordination in a group the Amatus didn't just survive, they thrived.

Basic Information

Anatomie

The Amatus slightly bigger than human, very lanky with a long, wide mouth and long curved claws as well as strong muscles that allow them to climb nearly every surface. They have Scales that allow them to adapt to the colour tones of their surroundings so they can move in the dark without being seen even in peripherial view and they have learned to replicate sounds, even human speech. In their mouth are glands that create a sedating toxin and their Aura allows them to cancel every sound in a certain perimeter.

Genetik und Vermehrung

Amatus reproduce similar to alot of reptiles, the male fertilizes the eggs inside the female. Tho they tend to lay a high number of eggs each time, keeping the numbers of the hoard high.

Wachstumsrate & -stadien

Amatus grow fast, within 2 years they are of size to fight fully grown men without problems, when reaching 3 they reach sexual maturity and begin to re-develop with Morieshan energies.

Ökologie und Lebensräume

The Amatus tend to settle inside caves, up in alcoves dug into the walls so they can jump down at attackers and intruders, but they don't limit their hunting to the caves, scavenging the greats forests of Moriesha for prey, fruits and roots. Because of this active traffic, the cave itself is not specially hidden. But the alcoves within tend to be cloaked with the aura of its inhabitants.

Ernährung und Gewohnheiten

They hunt in small groups, the size depending on their prey. Since finding out about the advantages of Morieshas flora and fauna they started eating nearly everything, grinding it between their teeth. Meat of bird, fish and landwalker, the roots of plants, their fruits and leafs. At the beginning they also hunted humans but the energies within them is too fleeting to satisfy their needs.

Biologischer Zyklus

The Amatus hunt year round, their scales preserving their own heat in the winter and their aura cooling their body in the tropical summers. With each year an Amatus lives he grows and changes, depending on the amount of food satiated with the energies of the continent their bodie will go through a few possible changes. They can grow in muscle mass and size, become pitch black in colour and learn to influence to mind of other beings. Some may follow the extinct variants of their race and grow leathery boney wings or gills and swimming skins. Rare are the manifestations of Calidorian magic, giving them a new aura that allows them to wield strong destructive Auras that make them feared and hated.

Geographische Herkunft und Verbreitung

They originated from Calidoria, but were then fully relocated to Morieshas forrests and caverns.

Durchschnittliche Intelligenz

They are as intelligent as a normal human, but they think faster and its not uncommen for very intelligent Amatus to be born that serve as leaders and planers of the hords future.

Wahrnehmung und sensorische Fähigkeiten

The Amatus have excellent vision capeable of nocturnal vision, where by at night they emitt a shine that colours diffrently depending on their eyecolour. They possess enhanced senses of taste, touch and hearing enabeling them to even orientate in darkness too deep for their eyes. Additionally to their biological sensens, they can spread their colourless aura to form something resembeling a field that alerts them to movement within it, making it very hard to sneak up on a Amatus thats even a bit on alert. Their sense of smell is only slightly better than that of a human, but Amatus tend to use their sense of taste to strenghten it.
