The Southern Protectorate

The Southern Protectorate (2,637 ME - 3,215 LE) is a defunct government. Its capital was Revenant Serenity.
It dissolved during the Night of Dark Portents (26th Citrine 3,215) when necroterrorist Qalvi Varai deceived the thirteen Protectors into a hostage exchange concerning the Morrisetti Royal Families, then personally assassinated the Protectorate's leadership.
As a government which had effectively managed the Southern Crescent and which operated for nearly 6,000 years, the Protectorate's collapse resulted in a bloody power vacuum struggle during the Southern Troubles (3,215 - 3,257 LE). Its successor is the Southern Constellations, a loose alliance of Luminary-led governments including the Elemental Alliance, the Gloom, and others.
