Qalvi Varai's empire, the Gate of Thoth, conquers the Mountain Groves of the Dafiela, beginning with the Massacre at Ravenheim.   Under the full force of his army comprising of revived and conjured undead, Varai succeeds in destroying all Sierran Dwarvish forces except the legendary fortress of Alåth Likotsåkzul (Jesting Trumpet Bolt).   With refreshed forces after bringing the Dwarvish Crown to heel, the Gate of Thoth rapidly brings the Queendom of Morrisette under its control, seizing all members of the Morrisetti Royal Families as hostages.   During a negotiation with the Southern Protectorate for the release of the Morrisetti royals, Varai emerges from under a disguise and strangles the Thirteen Protectors. The Protectorate's Last Stand, known more menacingly as the Night of Dark Portents (12/26/3,215 LE), results in numerous Annihilated Gods and a vicious political vacuum with inadequate heirs.   Varai ambitiously continues hir campaign towards the Heilish Throne in Thraaqai Forest.
