Humans

Description

  In the reckoning of most worlds, humans are the youngest of the common races, late to arrive in the world and short-lived in comparison to dwarves, elves, and dragons. Perhaps it is because of their shorter lives that they strive to achieve as much as they can in the years they are given. Or maybe they feel they have something to prove to the elder races, and that's why they build their mighty empires on the foundation of conquest and trade. Whatever drives them, humans are the innovators, the achievers, and the pioneers of the world.   Humans are adaptable and ambitious people. They have widely varying tastes, morals, and customs in the many different lands where they have settled. When they settle, though, they stay: they build cities to last for the ages, and great kingdoms that can persist for long centuries. Individually and as a group, humans are adaptable opportunists, and they stay alert to changing political and social dynamics.  

Character Build

Human skin shades vary depending on their ethnicity and where they originate from within Thuria. Hair colors and textures vary case to case, and they have natural looking eyes that you would see in the real world (heterochromia and rare eye colors are permissible).

Possessed Humans

  A possessed or spirit-touched human has an unusual or altered state of consciousness and associated behaviors that are purportedly caused by the control of spirits, ghosts, and sometimes demons, though it is well known that most humans are not always capable of handling a demonic possession, and most do not live much longer after their possession.   These conceptions of spirit possession can be found in a variety of cultures and religions, and depending on the cultural context, possessions can be voluntary or involuntary, as well as beneficial or harmful to the host. Humans can be possessed by ritual or simply be in a negative mental state, allowing more aggressive, wicked spirts to take advantage of such a vulnerable human. The majority of spirits in need of a host are those who have not crossed over and have unfinished business, whether neutral or malevolent.  
Note: Possessed Human PC may, with appropriate roleplay development may have their spirit removed, as Human PC with appropriate roleplay development my also become possessed on the isle.
 
When creating a possessed human their alignment falls within Lawful neutral to chaotic evil. We encourage players wishing to break alignment arcs to journal their characters' experiences that lead up to it.
 

Character Build

Possessed or Spirit Touched Humans look like normal humans, though depending on the longevity of them being a host and the type of possession, the human may have abnormal qualities such as eye color, skin color and deformities.     Roleplay Redux Racial Abilities:
  • Standard Humans do not have a racial ability. They however have a +1 bonus to all attributes.
  • Possessed Humans are granted the "Spirit Drain" racial ability. You may choose to sap your opponent's lifeforce, damaging them and healing yourself.
