The Year of Shattered Winter

A particularly harsh winter caused by magical anomalies swept across Silverhelm, known as the Year of Shattered Winter. Rivers froze, and crops were destroyed. Reports of magical creatures such as frost elementals and ice wyverns terrorizing the northern regions became common. The Wintermage Order was established in Helmspire after this to study the anomalies and protect the kingdom from future magical disasters.
