Lunathes & Gaiathes

The Year of Expectation

Editorial Team

The dusty desert planet of Lunathes shares a very special bond with it's lush habitable moon, Gaiathes. This bond is quite literal, in fact, as the two celestial bodies are so close to one another they actually share a single atmosphere. Gaiathes is tidal locked to Lunathes, showing it's parent only one side if its surface. The mysterious back of Gaiathes has gone completely undiscovered by civilizations both new and old, and cannot be reached by any common means. This is because of the powerful seemingly unnatural weather phenomenons, such as giant tsunamis and typhoons, as well as a seemingly infinite number of horrifying sea monsters and massive unidentified dragons that prey upon any who travel too far out to sea. The reason this is so unusual is that none of these threats ever reach the shores of the main lands, save for the odd Kraken or two. Mages and scholars throughout the ages have been able to teleport back and forth between Lunathes at any orbital position, and Gaiathes' visible landmass, but not it's tantalizingly mysterious "dark side."
