Elddar Forest

An old growth forest, taking up the majority of the Eastern portion of Vruduin. The Elddar Forest is home of some of the earliest Eladrin ruins, and the Elven lakeside city of Kelaron. In the southern mountains of the forest live the Dwarves of Gor Andirihm.
Elddar Forest
An old growth forest, taking a large eastern portion of the continent of Vruduin. The Elddar Forest is home of some of the earliest Eladrin ruins, and the Elven lakeside city of Kelaron. In the sourthern mountains of the forest live the Dwarves of Gor Andirihm.
The majority of the forest is made up of large redwood trees, with smaller pine and spruce trees dotting the forest. Groves of golden oaks, brought to Vruduin by the Eladrin from the feywild are intertwined throughout the forest as well, creating a beautiful golden color as they emit a soft glow at dawn and dusk each day.   Ruins of the early Eladrin civilization can be found throughout the dense forest, marking the time before the other species of Luridel awoke. Many of these ruins have yet to be explored, and some hold strange mysteries which the present day Eladrin and Elves simply cannot understand. Others, are inhabited by creatures, twisted by the use of magic or created as guardians, such as manticores, and then left abandoned when their masters fell from their lofty heights.   Carved out of the forest is the Elddar Road, the primary means of land transit in the eastern part of the continent, that leads from the plains to the west directly to Freehold at the coast. Splitting off of the Elddar Road are two other main roadways leading to Gor Andirihm in the south and Kelaron in the north.   Nestled away at the base of the Jaggedtooth mountains is the Orcish clan Nahrakk, who along with their Ogre cousins have begun clear cutting a small area around their village. This has caused a series of skirmishes between the Orcs and the Wood Elf faction, the Redwood Guardians out of Kelaron, who treat the forest as the closest connection they have back to their ancestral home in the Feywild.   Deep in the forest, there is rumored to be the lair of a Green Dragon, though it has not been seen in several generations, leading locals to believe that it has either died or moved on.

Kelaron

The Elven city of Kelaron sits on the shores of the Goldenglow lake, named such due to being surrounded by the golden oaks native to the feywild, and the reflection at dawn and dusk which gives the city an otherworldly look from afar. The Elves built the city out of the ruins of one of the last bastions of the early Eladrin, their ancestors. Ruled by King Immeral Naeris, one of the later Eladrin, and Leader of the Redwood Guardians.

Gor Andirihm

The Dwarven city of Gor Andirihm is carved out of and into the side of the Cold Iron Mountains. One of the earliest Dwarven strongholds, it was originally founded as a safe harbor for the awakening Dwarves with help by the Eladrin, as such, its architecture is a strange mixture of Dwarven and Elven. Stonework embossed with imagery of trees, leaves and vines.

Freehold

An independent city, started as a small outpost by human settlers from across the misting sea. Freehold grew slowly as a port and eventually was noticed by the two larger factions in the region. Refusing to bow to either, and in an interesting position where they are too valuable to both Kelaron and Gor Andirihm to subjugate, the city has thrived and grown. Led by elected governor Maelyn Garrick, the city has since become a trade port and home of the Emerald Champions adventurer's guild, bringing in a significant amount of capital to the once tiny outpost.

Hello! I liked your article! The map is easy to navigate and understand!! The connecting future articles is a good idea as well. I really like the second block description you have on the side about alternate names. A summary is very nice. “Stonework embossed with imagery of trees, leaves and vines.” Had a second “and” in there!! ♥ “Three Major cities and settlements.” You should write out the number three, and any number less than one thousand in general. Great job over all. X ♥ X

very neat article. short and sweet. I was actually interested enough to see what else you had that I clicked over to the Freehold article. I noticed you used what appears to be a Watabou map for the city. Very cool.

Oh, and your article cover image of the forest really grabbed my attention. Great choice!
