Everkeep Harbor
Town on a reverse trajectory...circa 1379
Everkeep Harbor was once a thriving fishing village on the southwestern coast of the continent. During the Rennlund Civil War (1370-1375), this region was mostly abandoned by the ruling party, which brought out the worst in those who lived in the region as they were forced to do what it took to survive. Following the civil war, the infighting of the Chimera Assembly, who were now sovereign over the region caused power vacuums, which were filled by warlords and thugs. The corrupt local politicians and bands of cutthroats were able to keep tenuous peace at times, but these times were short-lived. Everkeep Harbor stands as an example of limitless potentialstifled by greed and lack of direction. This is some trade, but it is tightly controlled by those who are currently in power regionally.
Points of Interest circa 1379
- The Owlbear Inn - proprietor: Gerta Padfoot - short in stature and temper, the years of hardship have taken their toll on her and her establishment
- The Wet Duergar Inn - proprietors: Finna and Finn(human twins) a slight downgrade from the nominal accomodations of the Owlbear, the Duergar serves those who have no intention of being found or identified. Nothing asked... nothing given.
- The Hook and Line - proprietor: Vind Stoutheardt - a scant assortment of the bare essentials are all that are allowed to be kept here, as the current authority, the Sterling Order, confiscate all non-essentials and some of everything else.
- Sunken Tap Tavern - proprietor: the Sterling Order - only operating tavern allowed in Everkeep Harbor. All unapproved spirits are deemed illegal by the order.
A Flourishing Recoverycirca 1484
By the year 1484 Everkeep Harbor has reclaimed some of its small port town charm. The fish trade has returned and the docks once again bustle as industrious fishermen peddle their catch to merchants and families alike. While parusing the market and small shops along the coast, one could almost see themselves leaving the adventuring life and settling in Everkeep for a time. Once frequented by the military, who relied somewhat on the goods and services brought into the harbor, this quiet town has grown sleepy... and vulnerable.
Points of Interest circa 1484
- The Sunken Tap - proprietor: Felix Rawlstrup - After the Sterling order was ousted from the town, the tavern was reopened under new management. A nice cozy place to settle in for a drink and a bard's tale.
- The Owlbear Inn - proprietor: Anor and Alice Padfoot - The last hundred years have been good to this inn. Expanded and refurbished, the accommodations are now second to none within 100 leagues of Everkeep.
- The Salty Sahaguin - Once called the Wet Duergar, this inn doesn't offer the amenities of the Owlbear. It does, however offer an economical alternative for the seamen between fishing trips.
