Lycen

Lycen is a world of variation, progression, and rivalry. Every manner of life exists, from the stalwart human nations of Ustaria, Voldskar and Grecalia. To the eastern Elven lands of Eswea and Ilylsari, and even the frozen barren plains of the northern lands known as the Kukan Wastes. Each land hosts a wide variety of races, dangers and beasts unspeakable by most travellers.   To the North are the Wardens of Stone's End, an ancient order largely forgotten, unknown and shunned by the common Man, Elf or Dwarf for their unsettling icy, glowing white gaze and their affinity for the Arcane. Whose purpose has long been reduced to protecting the northern region of Ustaria from the various Orc clans that inhabit the Kukan Wastes, and the strange beasts that lurk beyond. The southern lands of Ustaria are more developed and civilised in their own mind than their Northern counterparts of Dun Goen and Voldskar, who are viewed as savage and barbaric for their warrior tendencies and their reverance of folk-heroes over the Gods of the Sacred Banner of the Fidellian Faith; whose many Orders are as likely to extend the Hand of aid, as they are the Sword of justice.   In the East, the Elves of Eswea follow the Alhsari, the teachings of their God-heroes that drive them ever onward to conquer and liberate the world in a bid to expand their reach over Lycen, while contending with their more nature-bound forest dwelling kin of the Everglades, as well as their own political and religious machinations that make the Eswean nobility a daunting proposition for the uninitiated.   The Arcane exists throughout all of Lycen, however more easily controlled by those of Elven blood, and incredibly rare in Humans who, especially in Ustaria, tend to view it as a dangerous and corrupting force that, if left unchecked, will turn those under it's grasp into insane, powerful wielders of unspeakable magic. Thus, they keep a close eye on any potential students of the Arcane by using the Order of the Eye; an Order of the Fidellian Faith with affinity for the Arcane themselves, and abilities to counter it - with the jurisdiction to detain and potentially execute any Arcane Mage they deem a possible threat.   (W.I.P)
