Shattering of the Lēv Stone

Disaster / Destruction

Following almost immediately after Death's attempt to snuff out the life of the Olqdesh, Moradin decided to make a series of decisions that would alter the gift of the Ancient Divines forever.

The energy that was released after Death's attempt at a mass-extinction event was loose and untamed. Moradin, a recent (and rather late addition,) to the council of the Ancient Divines attempted to harness the energy for himself and to do something worthy of his new divinity. Foolishly, the energy changed when he absorbed it. He couldn't contain it. It changed while he possessed it. It nearly shattered his form as it left him, and tore the veil of conjuration magic nearly clean off from the Weave as it escaped. From the trauma that the Weave endured, one of the first Modern, or New Divines was born: Mystra, the Weavespinner. Moradin's incompetency shattered how teleportation and magical locomotion would work forever in Lyiot. In the process of the weave being nearly blown to bits, the strange Lēv Stone that sits at the center of Megterra, splintered into a thousand pieces, and as the energy from Moradin continued to blow out into the universe- some of the shards went with it. Some say that parts of the Lēv Stone can still be found, and if one knows what they're doing- can use these shards to use teleporting magics.
