The World's Breach

Summary

Kumiho and Tamamo, the Fox Twins, were product of Divine powers that got separated during the First Era. For centuries, knowing where they came from and what happened, they cooperated so that the world was a place to live in peace.   But after some time, their divergence of opinions were to much and after Kumiho discovered what his sister had done to the humans who followed her, a war began, scarring the surface in huge proportions.   Tamamo was defeated by her brother, and send back to the Abyss, were she had started to build her own realm, and her body was destroyed in the process in thousands of stones. The Oni, who are now her followers, gathered them and are now sending them back to the Prime Material so that Tamamo can regain her strength and take revenge upon Kumiho.

Historical Basis

The World's Breach is the conclusion of the Second Era of Lyn'thael and the beginning of the Third which the story is currently taking place.

Spread

The World's Breach is known worldwide but some parts, like the Yokai Blight, have been kept secret by the Keiryu Order. Only them have written knowledge about all the aspects of the Breach, as they are the ones who wrote it.   But considering the danger of such knowledge, the Great Master and the High Priestess have decided to keep it sealed and hopefully the world will never have to know.

Cultural Reception

For all the "surface" races, the World's Breach is considered the most damaging and cataclysmic event that happened in the Second Era. But for "extra-planar" cultures, like the Oni, it's a shameful and spiteful event and they cultivate revenge in their dark planes of existence.

In Literature

Generalised books and poems about the Breach can be found, but the more dangerous knowledge is kept secret in the Keiryu Sanctuary.

In Art

In the Imperial Palace of Katokai, a building known as the Walls of Legends was built, where mural paintings were made to remember the history of the world. Their is one wall by Era described, the World's Breach being the second one.
