Adium Needle

An Adium needle is a tattoo scarification needle made of a very thin and strong fillament of Adium Crystals   The needle is used primarily by the Ealari people in the high mountains of Thebia as a way to visualise the important promises they have made to family members or their Laird.   Tattooing using an Adium needle has to be done by the person who wishes to scar the promise onto themselves. In most cases, the arian sings or repeats the promise as the ink flows through the needle and under their skin. By the end of the process the beautiful knot patterns remain a dark shade of blue. Only when the oath that was taken is complete the tattoo becomes permanently illuminated.

Oathkeepers & Oathbreakers

Ealari warrior that swore above ten tattoos and made all ten promises reality are revered as Oathkeepers and it is considered a lifetime goal for many warriors.

On the other side oathbreakers are people who their tattoos have not been lit within ten years since the dye was cast. These tattoos appear deep black in contrast to the pale white skin of those highlanders.

Item type
Medical
Raw materials & Components
Adium needles can be manufactured by denaturing adium crystals and then reforming them into vaccum tubes. Many Ealari Artificers specialise on creating these needles since most of them are considered family heirlooms and a very important asset of a Ealari house.   Although, the needles appear to be fragile, they are in fact extremely hard and only a direct hit in the middle of its length can possibly shatter it.
Tools
For their construction Artificers need denatured adium sand of average and above grade, a vaccum chamber and a good array of chemical baths provided by alchemists in order to refind and glaze the needle.

I love the idea of showing the oath on your skin! The daily reminder and the risk of becoming a social outcast are great motivations for people to keep them and a nice alternative to inventing some magic that would force people to do something :D

Very cool concept of getting people to keep their promises. Love how people can visible see if peoples oaths have merit or not. :) The oathkeepers must look quite cool in the dark as well :p
