Prophesy of the Ancient’s return

They will return, they told me. It’s not a prophecy, or a myth or anything like that, not to them. It’s a certainty, as sure as the sun will rise and the south is dark. They will return. And when they do, the Kidema will be there to serve their masters as they once did.   Or at least, that’s what they say. In the mean time, they’re going to be a bloody pain in the behind if we want to strip out any more of these ruins. I’ve made nice with them for now, but they’re already asking uncomfortable questions about where we found those crystals...
Amongst the Kidema, a nation of the Eledhrim , there is a story, written in the now largely-lost language of the ancients. Although most other nations of the Eledrihm believe it to be no more than a mere children’s story, the Kidema hold it as truth. It goes like this.
The Eledhrim were created as servants, by the long-passed civilisation known as the ancients. They were created to be the carers and the farmers, the craftsmen and the cleaners. And they worked hard and were faithful, and life was good. And why did the great Ancients need servants? This was because they were busy with more important work. They were the masters of the fire spirits and the earth spirits, and of the water and the air. But they wanted more - they wanted to finally take their place beside those spirits, to ascend beyond this form and into that one - a form of pure anima. And one day, after all their rituals and rites, they did. They finally left behind their mortal forms and became gods.   But we, the Kidema Are no fools. We know that one day, they will return for their children, those who loyally cared and farmed and cleaned and crafted for their now god-like masters. For it was written in the lost tongue, and passed down from mother to child as the worship of the spirits and the old stories were. And this is why the Kidema, of all the tribes, preserve the old places of their masters, the buildings and temples deep in the jungle forgotten by most others. We are waiting for them to come home.
