Quintilioness

Collectors of Anima in the service of the Local Lords swearing allegiance directly to the Empress. Their name comes from the fact tha they are tasked to keep records and gather the "Fitth". The fifth also known as Soultithe is the ceremony that all subjects of the Theban empire partake into each break of dawn or dusk during which they willfully give one fifth of their anima as tribute to a Quintilioness who acts as the representative of the Empress.

 

The Quintilionesses are the priestesses of the Imperial Cult. Young, Attuned Theban , girls, carefully selected and taken from their home at the age of 5 to serve as lifelong priestesses and as the hands of the Empress.

The Quintilionesses are the eye, ears and mouth of the Empress when she is not near and can be found everywhere in the Holy Theban Empire. There is one Quintilioness for every 1000 citizens and she is always surrounded by 3 Imperial Warden who serve as her protectors, servitors and husbands.

If the girls are not born into the cult as a daughter to a Quintilioness and her Wardens, atthe time the girl leave its home, her previous family is gathered and take part in a ceremonial living funeral, where all the girls belonging are buried and they can say their final goodbyes before the girl is reborn as "the empress' child".
