Purple Dragon army

Structure

The army is separated into 3 parts the purple dragons (land army), blue dragons (navy) and the war wizards. The lowest rank in the land army is the blade basically a recruit. 12 Blades for a Section that is lead by a telsword, above them there is the Firstsword that usually leads a squad of 12 to 20 blades and tellswords. Above them are the Sword captain that often serve in administrative or logistical functions. Above that if the Lionar that commands up to 5 squads and that makes a troop. Above is the highest rank that a commoner can reach in the Armorian military and has command of a company (3 troops). Next is the Constal that is always of noble birth and command a full brigade of 10 companies. Further we have Wardens that are landed nobles leading their local soldiers into battle. The strategic commanders are Overswords and battle masters. And the person who commands the entirety of the purple dragons is the Grand Marshal.
The War wizards have a different structure to that of the land army. The lowest rank is the field wizard. A conclave (15 field wizards) is lead by an Alaphorn that are official war wizards and help the country with arcane investigations and official buisnes. 5 conclaves form a chapter which is lead by the Lord warder who are also field commanders and answer to the High marshal during war campaigns. During times when multiple Lord warder are on the field the Mage royal takes command, the Mage has command over all war wizards and only answers to the king.

Protect the fair peoples of Armo from those who would do it harm, no matter the enemy monster or human they will fall beneath us.

Assets

Has over a half a million gold to finance war campaigns, 30000 soldiers in a standing army. and 1500 war wizards and a navy of 2000. Hundreds of forts in Armo, and about 12 in the broken shore isles. 7500 war horses.

History

The army was created by King Pierre Burboug the II of Armo who created the standing professional standing army to combat the expansionistic Dundarian empire in 254 IE. Armo was conquered in a bloody eleven year war in 313 IE. After the war Armo was forbidden to have a standing army for 50 years, the purple dragon army was effectively disbanded and most of the veterans from the war joined the imperial legions. In the year 468 IE King Loui de Poitu the Despot of Armo reformed the legendary army to keep his nobles in check and to defend against the growing northern threats. The Army has stood as the symbol of the Kings power for centuries always in the shadow of the emperors. After the fall of the Dundarian empire many of the Armorian legionnaires returned to the homeland and joined the Purple dragons. With the political climate around spellcasters they were able to employ hundreds of spellcaster for free use of their magic. The Army proved it's prowess in the siedge of the then free city of Zalthofen in 1097 IE when they took the city and the surrounding regions in 2 weeks. And were extremely useful in quelling rebebelions and demon outbreaks. The only war they could not win was against the united Alinorian front.
