Founding

Ealwine founds Magnanime.

Ealwine, having fled from Ealdan sought a place to live and defend herself from the mess of clans being formed across the newfound land. Heading far into the West she came across a large hill atop which she built a fort with lumber from the nearby forests. Living atop a spiked fort, Ealwine became impregnable against bandits and clans looking for slaughter. Her reputation for surviving grew, and people came to her for protection, living with the boundaries of her stake wall and paying for her protection with food and goods that they farm themselves. The population exploded due to the nearby forests and rivers and Ealwine formed her own clan. In the Year 000 she was named Sovereign, for her dominion of all the lands about her, not just the hill, which she named Magnanime.
