Material Electromagnetic Bearing Range and Nature

The primary sensor suite among human and terran ships, the Material Electromagnetic Bearing Range and Nature (MEMBRANE) system is comprised of several different systems working in tandem to ease the operator's burden. MEMBRANE creates an envelope of absolute detection area 1,000,000 km from the ship. The MEMBRANE area expands to 20,000,000 km, approximately 60 lightseconds, of active safety scanning. MEMBRANE keeps up 10 AU of passive detection. The system is also capable of active FTL sensory, by focusing stimulation on a small area and pulling light from a distant target to the projector, something can be detected sooner than it would traveling at light speed.
MEMBRANE domes are characterized by large maroon domes that stick out from the hulls of ships.
