Upókó

Upókó is a synecdoche for two moons of a gas giant that serve as a major trade hub of the independent systems in the Asphodel spur of Hesperides, Triangulum. The outer moon, a temperate oceania where the station owners evolved, is Tókǐnú, and the inner, a warm selena where the trade goes on, is Upókó Káy. The native species to the system are the Tápæpó’á̌, green aliens with blobs for bodies standing on eight long tentacles. Tápæpó’á̌ primary trade is information, rather than material, but their position in Asphodel gave them the opportunity to host other species for material trade.
One kilometer under the crust the kakwé̌ptú̌, or fake cave, begins, two kilometers tall of empty mined out space held up by skyscrapers reaching from the core outward to the surface.

Demographics

There is no real majority species on upókó. Even the natives to the system keep to their own planet, and very few live on upókó to manage the station. Upókó even has very few permanent residents, the vast majority are passing through, even the store owners. The few permanent upókóowǐ are often employees of shipping businesses that were left behind or children born on the moon and abandoned to live in the tunnels.

Government

Upókó's state intentionally limits its own power, preferring to leave infrastructure and trade regulation to the free market. The state solely exists to keep the people inside safe from those outside who might have violent intents.

Assets

The smaller asteroid moons surrounding upókó are all made of ice, and hold massive caches of M-33 in them. Upókó's state makes money from mining the material and selling it, rather than collecting tax.
