Maanosa

Created by

Maanosa is a mighty continent, isolated from any other landmass. If the people of Maanosa know of any other continent, they certainly do not let on. The people are as varied as the lands they live on. The most significant geographical formation is the Great River, fed by the tides in the Jagged Bay the Great River divides Maanosa into three smaller landmasses. Trade around the Great River is done through fording the mighty currents or through river craft.   The southwestern corner is dominated by the great Gardran Desert and populated by the tieflings, a race with a fiendish heritage and the best suited for the arid wastelands. The plains north of the Gardran Desert are dominated by tribal orcs who share a deep connection to the land through druidic arts. These tribes are also home to the nomadic halflings who travel through the plains acting as traders for the more isolated tribes throughout Gebra and Omckra. Continuing north are the dwarvish countries of Kreblik and Karlik along the border of the Jagged Mountains, a great mountain range that separates the main continental area from the Dead Lands even further north. The southern ends of the Jagged Mountains is home to Mt. Firbolg, the largest volcano which smokes even to this day. Travelling eastwards the swamplands of Shalesk are home to the dragonborn, lizardfolk, kobolds, and there are even rumours of the yuan-ti of old still being active although none have seen them in centuries. North of the Jagged Mountains, there lies a mysterious country Nifhelm. The people of Maanosa know that there are citizens in Nifhelm, but do not know the nature of the citizenry. Further east lies Jorgand set in the Jagged Mountains the people of Jorgand are hardy and choose to live on the mountains rather than in them. The Jagged Peak, the tallest mountain of Maanosa stands to the north on the borders of the Dead Lands and was once the site of a massive demonic invasion many years ago. Moving south, there is Guardsbein, a smaller maritime country whose southern border lies on the Great River itself. The southeastern corner of the continent is dominated by Kerabi, another maritime country known for its high quality ale. West of Kerabi is Bandere, a country known for its great culture. Travelling inland, the nation of Santosia is a military powerhouse with famed Shock Troopers being whispered in fear during any enemy of the country. Further north lies Limba, a country dependent on trade and land locked from the oceans and even separated from the Great River. Finally, the mighty forests of Les are home to the elves, a secretive group of people whose nation is bisected by the Great River.
