Helga Ironpoint

Helga Ironpoint is a burly, imposing dwarf woman who commands both respect and admiration. Her thick red hair is always tied back with a soot-stained black bandana, and she wears a heavy leather apron over her armor, covered in minor burns and scuffs from years of work at the forge. Goggles rest on her forehead, which she raises when addressing customers, revealing sharp green eyes that scrutinize each person as if assessing their worth.   Helga is a perfectionist and traditionalist, dedicated to the art of armor-making and proud of the Ironpoint family name. She takes her work seriously and expects the same level of dedication from her apprentices. Helga believes armor is not just protection but a symbol of honor and strength, and she is known to refuse commissions that don’t meet her standards or align with her values. She’s warm-hearted to her loyal clients but bluntly dismissive of anyone she feels is unworthy of her craft.   Helga’s approach to crafting involves combining durability with intricate, personal designs. She often sits with clients to discuss their needs, background, and fighting style before starting a custom commission. This dedication to matching the armor to its wearer has earned her a loyal following among warriors and adventurers in Kuhlmgrut.

Family Ties

The Ironpoint siblings are locked in a fierce rivalry over who is the best blacksmith in Kuhlmgrut. Each sibling has their own loyal clientele, but the competition between them often spills into the streets, with arguments breaking out about the merits of their respective forges. While Helga and Rutrik take pride in their traditional skills, Flakey’s experiments with enchantments add a unique edge that his siblings find both intriguing and irritating.   All three siblings desire the legendary blacksmith’s hammer lost in the Underdark—a hammer said to grant its wielder unparalleled blacksmithing prowess. Each sibling believes that if they possessed the hammer, they could prove they are the true heir to the Ironpoint legacy. For Helga, the hammer represents the strength and honor of the family name. For Rutrik, it’s a symbol of power and dominance in blacksmithing. And for Flakey, it’s a chance to prove himself and gain the respect he feels his siblings have withheld from him.   Rumor has it that the Ironpoint siblings are willing to pay handsomely or even form uneasy alliances with adventurers brave enough to delve into the Underdark and retrieve the hammer. Yet, no one knows what will happen if the legendary hammer finds its way into one of their hands. The Truman Group had found the hammer and after a skills contest between the siblings convinced them to make up and share the hammer.
