Dwarves of The Brindlelands
Originating from rocky mountains and caves across Maethe, Dwarves emerged shortly after the Greystar's landing. Contributing as skilled smiths, craftsmen, and architects, Dwarves played a crucial role in rebuilding the broken settlements, as well as new ones, earning admiration and forming partnerships with various races, including the Bond of Modir. During the dark times that followed the landing, the Dwarves took a leading role in the 'Reclamation Voyages,' a historical expedition that began under the first Mordiroot Tree following the founding of the Bond of Modir. This event marked the resurgence of the mortal races in reclaiming the Brindlelands. A ledgendary Dwarf hero named Taehyir led this voyage, guiding survivors towards reclaiming their lands. As the Dwarves rose in power, they maintained a neutral stance amid the ascent of other organizations. Their expertise in craftsmanship and construction made them valuable collaborators rather than conquerors. The Dwarves fostered alliances and served as indispensable allies, contributing to the prosperity of their partners. Their neutrality allowed them to navigate the evolving political landscape without becoming embroiled in conflicts. They would often provide their resources as assistance to those that could aid the dwarves in turn, so long as the dwarves deemed them worthy and decent. As the Grand Duchy of Lu'Monte quickly began to overtake the Brindlelands, the Dwarves found themselves subjegated as labourors, rather than valued allies. The Grand Duchy introduced more and more jurisdiction that essentially made the dwarves residing in official settlement into slaves. Many were forced to work and produce valuable resources and goods for 'the war effort'. The New Bond has done almost nothing to combat this, and the dwarves themselves grow tired of this mistreament.
