Dunirr

The dunirr make their home in the equatorial Irralashian Alps and some of the surrounding regions. A dwarven dominated society, the dunirr are a reserved and patient people that value quality in all things.

Each dunirr clan maintains their own hold, usually deep in the mountains. Decades can pass without communication from a hold as dunirr value self-reliance, never calling for aid. Clans mostly send out envoys as part of trade missions, exporting metals, gems and stone from deep in their mines or to invite chieftains to celebrate the raising of a new chieftain.

Those dunirr who find themselves members of a nation are more engaged in the worldly goings-on than their isolationist cousins but are still just as traditional. A dunirr merchant will never take more than their items are worth, to do so would be to take charity and lose honour.

A few dunirr holds can be found below the cracked ground in the desert of swords. Utilising the same techniques that allowed the great cities in the old world to survive, these holds extract water from below the bedrock producing spectacular oases. These clans claim to be direct descendants of the rulers of the ancient city of Plara.
