Iruxi

The Iruxi lizardfolk were once ubiquitous in Irralish but have been pushed back to the far east as the arrivals expanded. Some displaced iruxi have remained in their ancestral lands in isolated villages while others have integrated into the new cultures. The purest iruxi culture is found in their unmolested lands in the far east of Irralish. Here they live in harmony with dinosaurs, build homes from their venerated ancestors bones cemented in grand walls of glass and stone and follow the motions of the rings to predict the future.
Iruxi worship their ancestors and believe those spirits will protect them in times of great need. Ancestral remains are integral to iruxi society. Strong bones are used in construction while others adown walls as beautiful decorations or are stored in stunning ossuaries. Many rituals revolve around these remains and over time the bones absorb and store this power as reservoirs. As such, ancient bones that have been worshiped for millennia are as powerful as the reliquaries of saints imbued with divine essence.
Iruxi society also centers around the movement of the rings. An iruxi adopts a particular pattern in the ring and looks to it to guide their lives. Most communities also have ring patterns that they as a whole revere and when that symbol is highest in the sky a festival will be held to ensure good fortune for the month to come.
