Kaava

Kaava are stealthy, jungle-dwelling reptiles with short down feathers that can easily be mistaken for fur from a distance. Kaava have tough scales beneath these feathers. Both the scales and feathers have mutable pigmentation that allows a kaava to blend into surrounding foliage like a chameleon.
Kaava are equally comfortable in a bipedal or quadrupedal stance. Their splayed hands are adapted to carrying small tools while also walking on the ground or leaping through trees. When working with larger tools, kaava tend to stand upright. Their quadrupedal gait is faster and is preferred when traversing the tops of trees in forests as they can grip branches with any limb, including their prehensile tail.
