Khazadur

The Khazadur dwarves inhabit the Kazad range and the surrounding highlands. Non-dwarves are uncommon in khazadur lands as these clans are constantly defending their lands against goblin, hobgoblin, orc and lizardfolk raids. As such outsiders are rarely welcome within a hold with the exception of traders clearly displaying fresh produce. Few khazadur holds can fully supply themselves on hunting or subterranean farming so trade is essential to support the populations.

Khazadur culture appears dour and rigid to outsiders who don't spend long in the holds. While these dwarves are dedicated workers, that work is performed with much joy. Mining and smithing become musical performances and at its best an entire hold comes together as an enormous orchestra. The full effects of this spectacle are denied to those that can't feel the deep vibrations that those in tune with the rock experience.
