Mortic

Mortics are bipeds that have become infused with negative energy but have not died. The original mortics are corrupted giants, kobolds and yotunoid form dragons that were experimented upon during the draconic wars. These creatures were dumped in the frozen wastes of Jiiral. This land was further corrupted so now other bipeds that wander too close are also transformed into Mortics.
Mortics retain their intelligence and have formed a culture and even nation despite their affliction. Derbia, home to the Krel people, primarily consists of various Mortic ancestries that have come together to share their burdens and work to survive and perhaps reverse or improve their conditions.
