Stheno

Stheno are snake-haired bipeds. Descended from dragons, their heritage is shown primarily through the snakes they bear instead of hair on their heads, their reptilian eyes and scaly skin. Their snakes are semi-autonomous, though their behaviors are colored by the stheno's emotions. An angry stheno might find their snakes lashing out at the subject of their wrath, while an amorous stheno's snakes might just want to snuggle instead.

When a stheno dies, their hair may live on as independent snakes. No more intelligent than a typical snake, the unbound hair snakes usually flee the sight of death of their host.

Stheno are related to medusas but lack the petrifying gaze of their predecesors.
