Oliver Baird

Oliver Baird is an experienced Euthanatos Adept and one of the founding members of The Table in New York City. Baird took the events of The Termination harder than many surviving Tradition mages did, turning not to self-preservation but to cold, unadulterated fury. Responsible for a number of high profile assassinations in recent years, he is one of the most wanted men in the entire world... Or at least he would be if anyone looking for him actually knew who they were looking for. He is one of the masters of Spero Hall.

Personality and Demeanor

Baird is a dour man, taciturn, stoic, and bleak, with a dark, dry sense of humor. His reserved exterior, however, belies a seething righteous fury that the observant will detect in his tone and posture when they are able to get more than a few words out of him. It is not uncommon for people to find Baird extremely perplexing, and even frustrating as his unique perspectives on the world make is difficult for the less enlightened to follow his logic. More frustrating, it is difficult to keep a solid, concrete notion of the man himself in mind as his particularly strong Arcane begins to blur him the second he is out of sight.

Magickal Practice

Baird thoroughly embodies the Death Mage image that most associate with the Euthanatos, though escalated to ways that many struggle to comprehend. Baird does not see killing as a way to ease the turning of the Wheel, but instead sees the Wheel as bound in chains forged of the modern Consensus--by targeting the weakest links in those chains, he frees the Wheel to turn another notch. To this end, for his greatest Magick death is not the goal, but the means by which his Will is enacted. He specializes in Entropy, Mind, and Correspondence, ensuring that each death sends waves throughout the sea of the public consciousness, bringing the Wheel a step closer to freedom.
Baird is far more tech savvy than many of his peers, fundamentally understanding the modern Internet on a nearly spiritual level. He has been known to employ web scraping scripts and screen readers to convert the raw data of the Net into what most only hear as noise and static, but what serves him as a meditative focus to expand his senses through time, space, and the patterns of fate.
Much of Baird's day-to-day Magickal practice utilizes Tantric Shaivism, with a focus on the supreme deity Shiva and a heavy use of yoga, meditation, mantra, and ascetism to manifest Siddhis. In addition to his primary focus on the spheres of Entropy, Correspondence, and Mind, he is also skilled in the domains of Forces, Life, and Time, and possesses an understanding of Prime.
