Ground Sensing
Ground Sensing is one of the basic geomantic spells which allows the caster to feel what is in the ground. One of the groups that uses it most often are archaeologists. They use it to find the right place to open a dig.
Casting the spell
In order to cast the spell a magic-user must touch the ground with a bare hand and focus on the ground. Then magical energy starts to flow downwards and the caster feels any distortions in the normal ground. Skilled magic-users can easily say what there is. For example, pottery gives a different feeling than stone or worms.
