Sandomierz
Sandomierz is a city in Poland located on the banks of the Vistula river. It famous as one of the few places in the country that produce Fire Spheres. The city is built on seven hills that gives it the nickname of "Small Rome".
Industry & Trade
Fire Spheres are the main product of the Sandomierz's industry. The Sphere-Crafters' Guild is the second most powerful organization in the city, right after the city council. Another important industry in the city is steel production, which is needed to produces the spheres.
Sphere Production
Fire Spheres combine the energy of 3 or 4 Fire Hearts. A sphere-crafter removes the parts which connected the heart to the moth's internal organs. He also removes the outer shell. After that the crafter is left with the heart's core which is the source of the energy. The core's temperature can reach to about 1000 Celsius (1832 Fahrenheit). It emits a strong yellowish orange light. Crafters need to wear protective goggles when working with the exposed cores. There are known cases of people going blind because of the light or burns after working without proper protection. The hearts are then placed in a steel sphere in which they combine. The sphere itself is made of an extremly temperature resistant steel made in the local steelworks.

Sphere-Crafters' Guild
The Sphere-Crafters' Guild is the main manfacturing organization in Sandomierz. Some people say that the guild is the reason for foundation of the city. Grandmaster of the Sphere-Crafters' Guild is the second most powerful person in Sandomierz after the mayor. The Guild is one of the few guilds in the world that still operates like in the past.
How to join the guild
Apprentices usually begin their training around the ages of 10-15 years old. The apprenticeship usually takes about 5 years. Than the apprentice is promoted to journeyman. A Sphere Crafter journeyman doesn't travel to different cities, because there is very little places where are the Sphere-Crafters' Guilds. Instead, he goes to a different workshop in Sandomierz than he was an apprentice. Journeymen assist the crafter directly in the process of producing the spheres. After 5-10 years they are allowed to take the master exam. The exam involves making a sphere in front of the guild's examiners. Often the grandmaster is personally overseeing the exam. When a journeyman passes the exam, he gains the right to own a workshop.
Natural Resources
The city is surrounded by Fire Moth farms, which supply the Sphere Crafter workshops in the city. The resources for the steelworks need to be imported to the city, because there is no mountains in the city's surroundings.
