History & Usage

History

Only their Divine Grace Qhehnir knows the Origin of the Creation of this Crystalline Rose. Many Worshipers of Qhehnir attribute their abundance as blessings, as these provide base materials for wands and staffs making spell casting more efficient. After the Human Industrial Revolution these Crystalline Roses were improved upon.

Discovery

New ways of using Qhehnir's Rose arose after the Industrial Revolution.

Everyday use

Qhehnir's Rose are often used as a base material for making Magical Implements such as wands and staffs. Can be used as is; like a Rose-wand for focusing spells.

Cultural Significance and Usage

As a sign of Abundance of these Crystalline Roses it is often a symbol of Qhehnir's Favor. The Humans are often called the "Unblessed" by the other Races and even other Humans from each other that was lucky enough to be born with magical abilities.

Industrial Use

After the Revolution, with the Advent of Mass production thru Cast Molding via Mana Forges and Advancements in "Hexing Runes" paved the way for Arcane implements to be both more efficient and widely available.

Refinement

Your Typical Qhehnir's Rose can be used as is, most magically gifted children gets their first Rose as a base wand. This Crystalline Rose can be Cast-Formed via a Manaforge enabling the Crytal to be shapped in any form.

Manufacturing & Products

These Crystalline Roses create base products like the simple Rose-wand. It is also a key material to all wands and staffs; to insert a spell into a wand or staff, a formal process called Rune-etching or Hexing have to be conducted to manufacture said magical implements.

Byproducts & Sideproducts

They have been experimented upon by Alchemical means, so far no known useful application have been found aside from a few niche breakthroughs in the ever growing new Science of Applied Alchemy or Chemistry. With the process of Mana-forging where a Rose is put inside a mold and put inside a mana-forge to "grow into shape." Some smiths have tried to make swords with the new method however the quality of the swords are on par with bronze in strength.

Hazards

Qhehnir's Roses are a bit fragile, with sufficient force it can break and shatter.

Environmental Impact

Most Flora and Fauna near the Leyline where these Crystals grow have adapted to extreme magical conditions. These Areas are notorious for mana-poisoning among humans.

Reusability & Recycling

These Crystals grow in areas of High Mana Concentration called Ley Lines. These Roses grow with a certain Extreme Mana-threshold so most mages cannot trigger the Rose to grow uncontrollably. Wands, Staffs, and others made from this crystal cannot be re-used if it is hexed with a spell; that being that it is "Rune-Etched" with a number of magical spell(s) that lack the space for it. It can only be re-used if it can be wiped off the rune-spells etched into it, but so far none have discovered a process to do it.

Author's Notes

I was inspired to make this Material from the videogame called "Command and Conquer: Tiberium Wars" where this Mcguffin is based on the in-game resource called Tiberium Crystals.

You adapted the idea of Tiberium smoothly without being too close. In fact, if you would not have said it, I would not have thought about Tiberium at all. Which is a good thing.   Also bonus points for the word "Mcguffin" which I only know because Adam Savage is using it quite regularly.

Thank you. It's good to know that people know about old video games in a niche and sadly irrelevant genre with all the MOBAs that are around.
