Ember Guards - The Defenders of the Royal Family [Inktober Prompt #6 Husky]

Introduction:

Who are they: Guards to the members of the Royal Family of Lahar.
Duties: Fight/Die/Protect The royal family at all costs. Death outside of service to the family is considered a most dishonorable disaster.
How is one chosen for such an honor: Children are plucked from families near the age of puberty. Children selected for the role are large in stature and must possess a particular disposition to violence. Boys and Girls are chosen as many slag elf woman can grow into great and massive warriors.
Weapons: Once the warriors have shown their worth, they are given a weapon only offered to the Ember Guard. A massive two-headed ax made of Black Smoke Glass. The weapon has a large piece of Magma Shard embedded into the shaft, which gives the blade of the axes the heat and destruction of the volcano itself. The heat of the weapon is painful to hold or grip from an untrained slag elf, but the Ember guards have all but singed any pain receptors they may have had before their training had initiated.
