Elite Military Unit: Remoshe Riders
The Remoshe is a massive winged beast that has called Mt. Vulmar home for centuries. The beast is a feared hunter from the skies that is able to take down other animals or enemies quickly with its massive talons and teeth. They have formed a special bond with the Ukari and have even allowed the Ukaris the blessing and respect to train and ride them as companions in war.
Training: In order to fight and train as a warrior on the back of a Remoshe any Ukari who aspire to join the ranks must be in absolute peak condition. The task is no easy feat and the soft of body and mind will not survive the ordeal.
First the Ukari must prepare themselves by training for years in hand to hand combat, strength training, military tactics and Remoshe Biology/Behavior. Once the trainees have deemed themselves worthy in tests that challenge them in all fields they are then tasked with a journey. They must pack food and water for a solo trip to the top of the crest of the mountain where the Remoshe live. The journey is not a simple task as the mountain terrain can be quite hazardous if one if unaware of footing or their surroundings. Once in the land of the Remoshe the warrior must present themselves to a Remoshe. This process is a way to show respect and earn trust in one another. The Ukari will bring a great meal with them to share with the Remoshe to tie a bond between them. If the Remoshe accepts the offer the Ukari and the Remoshe will feast together before flying down into the valley below. If the remoshe refuses the offer a great deal of pain can be followed. In rare instances if the Ukari was deemed disrespectful they were never seen from again. most instances the Remoshe will either slap the Ukari with a tail or nip at an arm to show their frustration. Then will walk away unwilling to join in the feast.
Social Structure of the Unit: Hazing New member treatment.
Who do they protect the people from: The elite force is used in a great deal of ways through out the kingdom.
Royal Guards for the great families. Defenders of the realm from the Blood Elves to the North. When large storms are seen in the horizon they are used to help warn the civilians to seek shelter.
What makes this unit so Elite? Riding and taming a Remoshe is an enormous undertaking that takes years of training and understanding. Being able to fight on the back of the great animal. The massive amount of training and schooling they have had to do in order to prepare for the position.
Any Special Treatment: Most of the Remoshe riders stick to their housing high in the mountains so that they can be closer to their beloved mounts and companions. They will venture into the cities from time to time and are treated with huge amounts of respect generally not paying for the items or goods they require.
Any Special Military tactics that they may use? They are well known to use the wind and sun to their advantage. They will strike at opponents using the sun as a blinding factor so that they can surprise their targets. they will also use stormy days as an advantage. With limited visibility they will use the extra gusts of wind to move around their targets and surround them attacking from multiple angles with great stealth and agility.
