In the early months of MS 5077, Lone Wolf was called away to action in Ixia. During his absence, the Naar used a combination of priests and mages to open a shadow gate to the Daziarn in Raven's Aerie. A large number of dragons were drawn through the gate and attacked the Kai monastery.
The new Kai masters were able, with help of Banedon and Lord Rioma of Dessi, to hold off until Lone Wolf returned. Lone Wolf journeyed into the mountains and, utilizing a magical construct of Gwynion 's, closed the gate.
In the after effects of this event, the population of dragons in Magnamund increased dramatically. Released from Naar 's control, the mostly juvenile dragons scattered across northern Magnamund.
